How we collect, use, and protect your information

Additional Privacy Details

Location searches should be treated differently from precise device location. A typed city or postal code is sent for geocoding and forecast retrieval. Browser geolocation is requested only after you choose the location feature and your browser presents its permission control. You may deny or later revoke that permission through browser settings and continue by entering a general location manually.

Support messages may contain the name, email address, technical details, and text you choose to submit. Please avoid including sensitive personal information that is unnecessary for the request. We use the message to respond, troubleshoot, maintain records of the issue, and meet legal or security obligations. External links and services operate under their own policies, and leaving our site may result in different collection practices.

Requests and verification

We may need enough information to verify that a person making an access or deletion request is connected to the relevant data. Verification is limited to what is reasonably necessary, and we will explain if a request cannot be completed because we do not hold the information, cannot verify the requester, or must retain a record by law. Authorized agents may be asked to provide evidence of authority where applicable.

Browser-stored favorites and preferences generally must be deleted on the device because they may never have been transmitted to us. Clearing site data removes those local entries. Questions about this distinction can be sent to the privacy address listed above.
